COMIC BOOKS

I’ve been creating artist books, comics and graphic narratives since 2016. They’ve been an essential part of my art practice for me to explore, unpack and document intimate moments of my trans experience.

My comics provide positive trans representation, from tomboy childhood gender euphoria, to affirming moments of gay trans masculinity.

I hold these stories close to my heart. I hope you feel connected to them in your own ways.

ILLUSTRATIONS

My illustrations have evolved over the years, and developed into multiple narratives, and reflective moments from my gender transition.

I explore challenging moments of undergoing top surgery, complexities of gay trans sexuality, reconnecting to my childhood self, and finally feeling at home in my body again.

I create the art I needed to see when I was growing up and when I started my own gender transition.

TEXTILES

My art practice shifted in 2020, my comics became more tender and tactile, taking the form of embroidery, wall hangings and eventually to my ‘quilted comics’.

Textiles gives me the opportunity to slow down, take care of the work I’m creating, and in turn take care of myself. It’s a transformative process, and like transitioning, is worth the wait.

I love drawing parallels between the cotton stitches, to the sutures on my body from my top surgery, and using embroidery to show the connection and the adornment of my trans body.
